About Miss Turner

Hello! I am Claire Turner and I am stoked to be here at Lester Prairie for my first year! I teach junior high social studies and high school psychology. I graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 2020, and then continued my education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where I graduated in the spring of 2024 with a degree in History and Social Studies Education and an Environmental Certificate. As much as I loved Stevens Point (Roll Dawgs!), I am so excited to be back in Minnesota for my teaching career!

Outside of school, you’ll often find me reading or on some sort of trip, whether it’s a road trip to a national park with my partner, or in downtown Boston visiting friends. I just recently became an aunt and I have been so excited to take on this new role! My favorite movie is Mamma mia! and my favorite band is ABBA, although Taylor Swift and Hozier are close seconds. I’m a huge Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Frost fan so if you ever want to talk hockey, you know where to find me!

I’ve spent almost every summer since my freshman year of high school at Many Point Scout Camp in Ponsford, Minnesota. I love being in the outdoors and teaching kids all about different topics like environmental science or kayaking. I’ve met so many of my close friends there as well as my partner! I’m excited to transfer over a lot of the stuff I’ve learned from camp into the classroom!

I’m so excited to get to know each and every one of you throughout the year! If you ever need anything please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Go Bulldogs!
