SAFETY INSRUCTIONS FOR THE SHAPER

1. Always wear eye protection.

2. Set up machine so unused portion of cutter is below the table.

3.Position left fence to support work that has passed through the cutter.

4. Lock cutter securely to spindle.

5. Remove all setup tools.

6. Make sure that the cutter head does not touch the edge of the table throat.

7. Make sure that stock is fed against the direction of cutter rotation.

8. Beware of defects in wood to be shaped.

9. Hold board being shaped down and against the guide with palms of hands. Fingers together, lying on stock, out of cutter path.

10. Notify instructor of kickback or chatter.

11. Do not run end grain of stock less than 8” wide.

12. Unplug when changing cutters.

13. Do not put hands in line with cutters.
