LP Foundation for Education

WELCOME TO THE
LESTER PRAIRIE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION &
LESTER PRAIRIE SCHOLARSHIP GROUP

The Lester Prairie Foundation for Education was organized to provide a vehicle for members of the community and alumni to donate financial resources to continue the great job Lester Prairie Schools do in educating our youth.

THE FOUNDATION:
The Foundation has implemented a mission to gather enough financial reserve to use the interest to provide financial assistance to the school system.

The primary source of income for the Foundation is the Bulldog Bash.  The success of the Bash has been a real highlight for the Foundation.

Some of the proceeds from the Bulldog Bash support the awarding grants to teachers for classroom use.  The Foundation has also donated SmartBoards to classrooms, money for Chromebooks and charging carts, new sound system in the gym, painted school doors, risers for school concerts, 3D Printers…. as well as many other items for the schools use!

Lester Prairie Scholarship Group

Lester Prairie Scholarship Group (Formerly known as Dollars for Scholars Chapter) has donated over $350,000 in scholarships since 1984.

If you care to donate to the Foundation for Education please contact Becky Kerkvliet @ 612-419-6634 or the Lester Prairie Scholarship Group please contact Kelli Machemehl @ 320-224-4368

Lester Prairie Scholarship Group
(formerly known as McLeod County East Dollars for Scholars Chapter)

Lester Prairie Foundation for Education
LP Foundation for Education is a group comprised of 15 members of the board of directors with ties to our local community and school. The Lester Prairie Foundation has been in existence for over 20 years. The mission of our group is to promote educational and extra curricular opportunities for the children in our school district. We raise money to purchase great items for our school and to provide teacher classroom grants each fall.  Our money is raised through direct donations from alumni, community members, parents and businesses. Each year we hold our annual fundraiser, the “Bulldog Bash”. This event is our main fundraiser for our organization. We raise close to $20,000 each year with this event. If you would like to donate to our organization or learn more about us please contact President Becky Kerkvliet, or Secretary Kim Schauer.

Lester Prairie Scholarship Group (formerly known as McLeod County East Dollars for Scholars)
The scholarship group has been in existence for 30 years and gives out college scholarships to graduates of Lester Prairie High School. We have given out over $350,000 since our inception.  In 2017 we will be awarding 17 scholarships totaling $19,500 to Lester Prairie High School seniors that will be pursuing higher education. The awards are merit based and will be given out at the graduation ceremony in spring.   Scholarship money comes from direct donations from individuals and businesses. If you are interested in donating money or sponsoring a scholarship in memory of someone, please contact Kelli Machemehl at 320-395-2844 or Christine Mattson at 320-395-2521.
